This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
I just downloaded the linux version of the jdk1.3. I expected to get the package as a .rpm, but when I got it, it had the extension .rpm.bin. What is this .bin?? How can I extract the .rpm file? I realize that this may be a very basic question. I just switched from windows to linux, and I'm a complete rookie, so any help would be greatly appreciated because I need to get java up and running on my machine. Thanks for your help. Sean
