do you have perl on your linux box?
if you do, and it is in your path, just type 'perl ' followed by the name of the perl script (aka perl program) and perl should run it.
Alternatively, make sure that the first line of the perl script reads:

(assuming that perl is in /usr/local/bin -- substitute the path that leads to perl on your linux box). HTH.

Do you like to run perl as a stand alone program?
or as a CGI program?
If you want to run as a stand alone,
--above reply will just do fine.
If you want run a CGI program,
Keep your program in the cgi-bin dir of your apache location.
and call it through your browser something like http://localhost/cgi-bin/test
(where 'test' is your perl program's name ).
It is also a good idea to run perl programs as an apache module for greater performance. For that you need to install perl-apache module.
