Hello Friends,

I have set sound files placed in Linux machine(server).
I use Jmf for audio files to play.
When i try to get soundfiles from linux m/c i get an error
Failed to configure: com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine
Bad header in the media: WAVE Parser: expected magic string RIFF, got < !DO

Error: Unable to realize com.sun.media.PlaybackEngine
Failed to realize: failed to parse the input media.

So pl.. help me with a solution.
with regards,
Cinderalla.

There are quite a few different audio file formats. The two most popular are probably "WAV" (Windows) and "AU" (Unix), not counting streamable forms like RealAudio's "RAM" form.
RIFF is, I believe an IBM version of the IFF (Interchange File Format) format created by Electronic Arts for the Commodore Amiga, and apparently that's what the player is looking for. The first 4 bytes of the file should be "RIFF". However, your sound file isn't in RIFF form. What you're going to need to do is determine what format is actually is and set the JMF player to match it.

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.
