How do I browse other machines on the network in Linux Mandrake 8.2?

I have a LAN and my Linux machine is connected to it. I don't know how to talk to the other machines on the network e.g. moving files across machines. It is smuch easier in Windows XP though because all I do is go to 'My Network Places'. Currently my Linux machine is using the network connection from another computer on the network, so that part is working. Please help.

Have a look at 'samba', which offers Windows fileserver capabilities from a UNIX/Linux box.
I agree. Here's the link: http://ej-technologies/jprofiler - if it wasn't for jprofiler, we would need to
run our stuff on 16 servers instead of 3.
