Hi, I am trying to enhance overall performance of my Linux box and want to know what are the major modifications one can make to the kernel (version 2.4) to achieve this end. Can somebody suggest a good source online that can give me a list of such kernel options and their recommended values? Regards

Well you can try out the preempt patch: http://www.tech9.net/rml/linux/ Or try these patches: http://members.optusnet.com.au/ckolivas/kernel/ Or try out one of the kernels from the 2.5 branch. Its performance is much improved over 2.4.x. Have fun.
