Hi All,

Can somebody pls suggest some books /tutorials/training courses (hands on approach)for learning more about UNIX(AIX).
Btw I am a j2ee professional who knows basic scripting commands.

I don't know of any specific online tutorials. I learned Unix and Linux by starting with a college class, continued by looking at documentation and HOWTOs, and eventually installing Linux on my own computer at home. If a local university offers a class, that might be a good place to start since the instructor can act as a mentor to help you get started.

Linux has great online documentation. You can type "man <command-name>" for just about any command and get a detailed description of how to use it. This is one of my main resources to help me continue learning about Linux/Unix.

What do you mean by "basic scripting commands"? Can you give some examples of the commands that you use regularly?

I meant normal commands we use e.g mkdir etc.
Any good books you can suggest?

"teach yourself uniz in a week" by "dave taylor" is a great book.
