Best in what context?

The relative goodness of an operating system is highly context-sensitive. To start with, if you're running Sun hardware it's best to go with Solaris, if you're running HP hardware it's best to go with HP-UX, and if you're running IBM hardware it's best to go with AIX.

If you use generic hardwares than Solaris is the best choice. The ZFS is amazing.
