Check out Steve Summit's C Programming Notes at http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/cclass/cclass.html You don't get the personal attention that javaranch offers, but his notes, with exercises included, do an excellent job of explaining the basic concepts well. (Maybe the more complicated stuff, too, but I didn't go all the way through it. ) Hope this helps, Pauline
