Where is the config for wlan0?

I'm trying to get an external USB wireless adapter working with Ubunrtu 6.06
When I plugged it in, it recognised it asa awiress card so I tried configuring it and plugging turning it on but this caused the OS to freeze.

I have now installed the ndiswrapper and the XP drivers, but when I plug the wireless card in I believe it is trying to use the old config and the machine lock up again. The wireless card does not show up when the network setting when it isn't plugged in so I can't remove it that way.

Can someone point me to the wlan0 config file, and should I just rename it (ie backup) for now?

I guess the best adress for your question is the ubuntu-forum:

Avoiding to load the first driver might involve udev and hal, and I'm not experienced in changing their configuration.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
