path conversion window to linux

Hi I have application.properties file which contains the path name of file like this
file.path=D:\\Data where data is any folder

Now application is going to be instaalled on red hat linux

Now the same file I need to be in
/home/webadrep/Data where again data is folder

now the question is a)what should i write for file.path now.

does
file.path="/home/webadrep/Data";
work?

unix filepaths start at "/" as the root directory, instead of the
drive name ("D:").
