I use eclipse to develop application on window xp. I then copy jar files to linux. Could someone advice or provide links to articles on how to improve linux experience? Should I give up eclipse and use vi? Are there any other ways? Thanks

Have a look at our Linux/Unix FAQ and scroll down to the entry "How do I learn Linux?".

I am using Linux as my daily system and Windows in a virtual environment. To learn Linux you _have_ to use it. You may start in a virtual environment if you wish to buy something like VMware, which is what I am using on Linux, or get something for windows that is open source and free at the moment Virtual box, I think check the License.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
