Location: North Austin, TX Salary: Negotiable The Company: Our client is seeking a Senior QA Engineer permanent position. You will work as a contractor for 3 months before converting to a permanent employee. This rapidly growing company has developed a unique patent-pending technology enabling high volume, high processing of electronic data! The Position: The Senior QA Engineer is a member of the core development team and will report to the Director of QA. Key Responsibilities: **Design, implement, execute, and debug test cases with an emphasis on gray/white box test case development and automated test methodologies. **Document test development, execution, and overall project status in weekly reports. **Enter defects or issues into the defect tracking system, and provide detailed information in the form of logs, and steps to reproduce. **Maintain defect database, including verification and closure of defect records. **Project planning, effort estimation, risk assessment, and test execution for area of responsibility. **Development of full system functional test, stress test, and performance test criteria. **Create test plans and build test cases/tools based upon requirements, designs, and specifications. **Represent QA at project status meetings. Job requirements: **Five or more years experience testing and measuring enterprise software products on both Windows and Linux platforms, with a preference given to candidates with experience in testing low level drivers, or pattern matching/code breaking, or reverse engineering. **Five or more years of test plan and test procedure development for C/C++ or Java-based products. Three or more years experience testing and testing products that use C/C++ against Oracle using OCI libraries or JDBC. A good understanding of setting up and using Oracle is an advantage. **Three or more years experience with open-source development tools, such as Bugzilla and CVS, as well as Rational Quality productions (Test Manager, Rational Robot) and/or MS Visual Test. **Ability to work in a team or with multiple organizational departments in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, with a preference is given to candidates with experience in start-up or emerging companies. **Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). **Proven ability to work independently. **Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related scientific field preferred. Management Responsibility: **Being at an advanced level, the Senior QA Engineer is expected to demonstrate leadership skills, and will be called upon to mentor junior-level engineers.
