Hello, I have an question towards mac OS /X and Java RunTime 1.3. I have an applet that needs the above plugin, for the pc's is works beatiful if the user doesn't have it it will open a frame saying they need to download the plugin (Netscape and IE). As for the Mac OS/X 10 all I get is the web page , not applet (as the tags for sniffering the os is another question ). The thing I don't get is if the same people use LimeWire, they need a plugin as well (but as in this case it an application). I've read about if its OX 9 it only has an older version of java, if you need jre1.3 you need to upgrade to OS 10 ..... so which is it, does 1.3 come with OS 10 ....... the more I read the more I feel confused. Does a plugin (jre 1.3 found at http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.3/plugin-install.html ) exist for the Mac OS ??? Help welcomed

Well Apple says that OS X 10.1 comes with jre1.3. http://developer.apple.com/java/ I believe that the only java plugins for Macs are for the lower releases. [ April 16, 2002: Message edited by: Cindy Glass ]
