Does anyone know whether Sun's J2EE 1.4 server will run successfully on a Mac? Sun distributes only Windows and Linux installers, but presumably if it's pure Java it should run on a Mac too?

Use JBOSS, JRUN, or TOMCAT Yes, The Sun Reference Implementation DOES work, just follow the Solaris installation instructions, but download the Other UNIX tar file.

Excellent, that's interesting to know. It seems as if a fair amount of UNIX stuff will work, albeit with a little tweaking for the Mac specific environment.
