Is there a way to switch between documents, not just applications, using a keyboard shortcut (like you can with Windows using alt-tab)?
Got OSX 10.2.6 on a PowerBook G4

Thanks,
Pauline

In Jaguar, the Alt-Tab thingy cycles through apps, rather than windows. Not quite what I wanted.
I found a shareware app, LiteSwitch X, which allows you to cycle through windows. It's pretty cool.
In the upcoming Panther (OS X 10.3), the new Expose facility will allow quick window switching using an entirely new paradigm (which I'm very much looking forward to).

In most OS X apps, doing cmd-~ (command-tilde) will cycle the windows. That's generally the adopted shortcut for cycling windows in OS X. I use that combo all the time myself.

I wonder if that's keyboard specific.
How do you get tilde on *your* keyboard? On mine (tibook, swiss layout) the combination isn't simple as it includes typing a space to get the tilde.

Looking excitedly around the corner for a Panther...

I don't know if this helps, but on most standard US keyboards, the tilde key is just to the left of the 1 (one) key in the top row (not the number pad 1). It's actually in the top of the key; the bottom of the key is the backward-apostrophe character...so it's not really cmd-tilde, it's cmd-{key to the left of the 1 key} (which happens to have the tilde character on it )

Thanks Rob. The cmd-{key to the left of the 1 key} combo didn't seem to do the trick. Guess it's time to try to dig up some switchers using a swiss keyboard over here and pester them with it...

I tried out a demo of Panther last week and really liked the window switching/desktop clearing options.
Today I read something from the LiteSwitch folks about how they would have liked some recognition from Apple for their role in the story.
Since I don't have 10.3 yet I figured I'd check out LiteSwitch - at first glance, 10.3 really does seem very, very similar. LiteSwitch is very nice at any rate, and nicely priced shareware ($15).
