Upgrade Problems, Hotspot

Hello All,
I upgraded to Panther last night, and I noticed well, a few differences. When I typed in java -version, this was displayed:

I am not certain what Hotspot is and what the error message means.

Out of interest, did you upgrade over the top of the existing Mac OS X install, or choose the "Erase and Install" option? I went for the "Erase and Install" and my versions are...
J2SE (build 1.4.1_01-99)
Hotspot client VM (build 1.4.1_01-27, mixed mode)

Hi Bear and Simon,
No, I was not able to run my Java programs.
Luckily I had/have a good backup of my system on an external firewire drive. So, last night I re-installed Panther using the erase and install option. It is wonderful having all of that extra space!
Java -version now shows:

I just typed in the standard "Hello World" app. It compiled and ran correctly.
It looks like I will be spending a little time slowly putting my system back, minus a lot of crap I have been needlessly storing.

MacInTouch is reporting some success with the "re-install the system software" approach (basically the same as solution 2 on the readerware site). See http://www.macintouch.com/panreader08.html
