It's linux based when it comes to iMac shell. I installed the Unix(TAR) version of Tomcat in there. How do I run the startup.sh under iMac command prompt. What env variable do I need to setup?

Actually, OS X is not Linux-based, but it is a UNIX variant (based upon FreeBSD code if I understand correctly). The only environment variable I recall setting up was JAVA_HOME which was set to /Library/Java/Home.
