Integrating Apache & Tomcat

<p>I've been trying to integrate Apache and Tomcat on my Powerbook.

<p>Apache is pre-installed and was just a matter of flicking the switch to get it up and running.
<p>Tomcat5 was almost as easy, and works just fine on 8080.

<p>However integrating the two just is not working. I can load mod_jk into Apache just fine but I get a server is not configured properly (50x) when I click on one of the sample JSP links.

<p>The only tutorials I can find on the web are for earlier versions of OSX and Tomcat: and I couldn't get any of them to work. Anyone have a how-to for Panther and Tomcat 5?

I haven't set this up myself, but I can't really think of how there would be any OS X specific issues (other than where the conf files are stored). You might want to poke through the Tomcat forum where I think this has been discussed before.

Btw, as you may have noticed, HTML markup doesn't work on this forum. When you get the chance please edit your post to clean it up for readability. Thanks.

Hi - I have not started integrating Apache and Tomcat - but if you are having problems getting Tomcat and Java working on OSX Panther then let me know - I have several pages of notes that should help.

Hello All,

You can start by checking out:

http://developer.apple.com/internet/java/tomcat1.html

It will help you get Tomcat running. And to get it to start automatically, check out Tomcat: A Definitive Guide.

Between the two, you will get a good start on Macs and Tomcat.
