This week's book giveaway is in the OCPJP forum. We're giving away four copies of OCA/OCP Java SE 7 Programmer I & II Study Guide and have Kathy Sierra & Bert Bates on-line! See this thread for details.
What do you use for a database? I use Oracle too but usually with JDBC thin client and JSP or Java front end. But Oracle packs in a lot of other stuff in the client for monitoring the DB, change management, development, etc. Big not always = bad.

In my day job I use whatever the clients use, which is almost always Oracle, DB2, etc but unfortunately I can't use my PowerBook at work. Outside of work, on my PowerBook, I'll use HSQLDB when I do need a database. [ September 29, 2004: Message edited by: Simon Brown ]
