This is the message I got when I first tried accessing the command prompt on MacOSX (Panther):

By 'console' do you mean the Terminal application? There is something called the console, but I don't think that's what you are after.

I think that's what he got, based on the messages, though. Unnsse, I think you want Terminal rather than Console.
