Is there a way to install the Oracle 10G database into MacOSX?

If not, is there a way to create an app that would connect to an Oracle 10G database (which is served on a remote OSX machine using JDBC)?

All the best,

I do not know if Oracle can under OS X or not (best check with Oracle on that one), but by using JDBC you can connect to any db that has a JDBC driver.

Thanks Loren,

I knew a Loren Roseman, from college (several years back), are you the same person? Do you know him?

I knew that there was an Oracle 10G database in the works for OSX...

All the best,

Unnsse

the OSX port of Oracle 10G is now production (out of beta):

(I've never changed my last name, but I am interested to hear there's anyone around with a name even that similar to mine.)

Hi all,
I just ordered an new PowerBook 17" (1,67 GHz, 2 GB) that I want to use as my development machine. I knew that there was a Oracle 9i version for Mac OSX, but now I can only find a version (10g) for OSX Server.
I'm a bit puzzeled here: Is OSX Server just a "bigger" (i.e. with more server specific apps) version of OSX or is it purely for servers and lacks the nice applications that the normal version has?
And if not, what's the best way to get an Oracle DB running on my PB? Should I rather user VirtualPC or bochs and run Oracle inside a Linux window?

Thanks :-)

Mark

Never mind, I just found this page:
Sergio's Blog: Installing Oracle Database 10g on Mac OS X

There are still things that Google doesn't find ;-)
