How does one create menus for the OS X menubar (as opposed to adding them to a frame)?

I assume this is for a Swing app? Way back when, I remember reading somewhere that there was a property to set to make the menu use the OS X native menu rather than a Swing menu. As I write mostly web apps, I've never used it myself, just recall its existance.

Try googling around for it, I know it can be done.

The property in question (and others you can use to make a OS X Java app more Mac-like) is described at http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn/tn2031.html
