I think I screwed up tomcat permission. I get 404 for all files in tomcat except index page.

Could it be something else?

What can I do? Log file doesn't such error.

If you got permission problems, get this program. batchmod:

Its a GUI to help you change file permissions. You then drag your tomcat folder on to it, and it will allow you set the permissions of all the files in your tomcat dir in 1 go.

I used to program as part of my tomcat installation to get everything working.

Hope it helps

What should the permissions be? Are there any special nested permissions, in say "webapps"?

I don't know what the problem is. Tomcat won't serve files -- not even static files like .js. The includes don't work. "/" and "/index.jsp" are different.

This happened right after I changed permission on tomcat, and I only did change permissions because ANT "clean" was barfing permissions errors.

It was not a permission problem. I had an "index.jsp" file in webapps.

This didn't seem to show up right away, I screwed up my build file and when I realized that I was copying jsps to ${dist}, I stopped.

The problem is that I try and do these things at 2am.
I agree. Here's the link:
