if the javascript files cached (which i think they are) does that mean that if i have the same file included in more than one page the browser uses the cached copy instead of getting it a second time from the server??..

Yes, if you are calling JS files from outside the page then they are being stored in the cache and they are being called from cache whenever they are on the client computer.
