Missing/corrupt posts?

I posted a reply in the Certification topic last night and went looking for clarification this morning and could not find the thread ("shift question")
I did a search on "(short)" and found the thread -- but when I clicked on the link, it took me to a completely different thread.
The html reference at the bottom when you mouseover the link is identical to that of the other, separate thread.
Is it possible that the second thread somehow completely overwrote the original thread?

If the original owner of the thread deleted it, all the responses get deleted also, and the Thread number is available for reuse.
