Frameset Refresh Problem

Hello All
I have a refresh problem in Frameset.
I have a frameset with three frames.
1. Top frame for Header.
2. Left frame for Menu
3.Right frame for main pages.
Actually top frame has also links for Main modules of the system.
Whenever I choose one module from teh top it display the menu page for that module in left frame and defualt page in right frame.
and I use the menu frame to navigate through pages in the right frame.
Now when I use to refresh my whole frameset It changes all both the left frame menu and right frame page.
I want to keep the current left frame and right frame after refresh.
This problem is in an application which has more then 550 pages and there is no server side controller in it.
Regrads.

I don't think there is a real solution. The problem with refreshing is that it resends a request for the page that is in the address bar. This loads your frameset and from there it has to load all the default frame pages. Without server side processing you can't get it return something different.
I'd be interested to hear Eric's take on this, but the only solution I can think of is to have a 'refresh' button in your right frame that uses javascript to only refresh that frame element. If the user hits the browser refresh, you're out of luck.
We have the same problem in on of the applications I have to maintain. It's one of the(many) reasons I hate frames.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
