How to call an exe file using Java or Vb script??

Hi,
I am new to both scrping languages. Could anybody help me in calling an exe file from JavaScript or VBscript. I have to detect the web broweser version and if the brower is NS and the version is gretaer than 6, I need to call call iexplorer.exe file to launch the IE browser

Thankfully, you can't.
Security restrictions prevent you from accessing the client file system at all, let alone execute a program from it.
