In the context of Javascript, I usually use the term 'function' to describe functions declared outside an object, and 'method' to describe functions declared as part of an object. There's not really a cut-and-dried definition. It's not wrong to call an object method a 'fuction' -- thought I'd probably argue that calling a stand-alone function a 'method' is probably not correct, but at best, mis-leading. hth, bear
Methods are used an object-oriented approach to programming. An object is a "thing" that has it own attributes and related functions(methods). This is what I can come up with, I am sure someone out there has a better answer. Eric
