Drop-down repositions as you type

It there a way to create a drop-down that will reposition as you type, rather than always trying to position to the first option where the first chracter matches the character being entered.
example:
I would like the drop-down to position to "argonaut" when I type in "arg", using this list of possible drop-down options:
"anchor"
"architect"
"area"
"argonuat"
"arkansas"
"bridal"
etc...
Thanks.
