Hi,
I'm getting a 'page error' - 'formname.elementname' is null or is not an object. This is in IE6 and I've never run into this error before. The jsp
page compiles with no problem and there are no errors thrown in the java code on the page. I've examined the jsp/html as well as I can and still don't see what the problem is. The error occurs when the page is rendered in the browser and the form will not submit.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Ranch 'wgb'!
You'll find this forum a great place to seek help on JSP pages, and there aren't many rules you'll have to worry about, but one is that proper names are required. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and change your display name to match it.
In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.
Thanks!

Since this is an HTML/Javascript issue not relating to JSP, I'm moving this topic to the HTML/Javascript forum.

when is it getting called? If it is getting called as the page is loading then it will not find the element since the element has not been rendered on the page yet.
Make sure the element is in insed the form tags and make sure the form is closed.
That is all I can say without looking at the code.
