Help with text-fields..

Hi..
I have a form with text-fields. Whatever a user enters into it goes into the database. When the user returns to the page, whatever was originally entered is shown in the respective text-fields. This allows the user to update any fields he/she wishes. However, while I am unable to save these new values. I am still shown the old values. CAn someone help me with this problem??? I am a beginner to javaScript...

what are you using for a server side langauge to store the values? JavaScript can not store the values...
