I need to let the user listen to a wav file in one of our intranet web apps. For ease of support, I would like to force the wav file to play in Windows Media Player (WMP). I've seen on Microsoft's website that I can create a custom file name extension and associate it with WMP so that it will always play in this player. Is there any other (easier) way to automatically play the wav in WMP instead of RealPlayer, etc?

If you are talking IE only, you can embed it into the browser

Is there a way for me to force it to play in Windows Media Player, even if the user's default player is RealPlayer?
