problem with extracting values from a combo box.....

Hi...
i have two combo boxes....after the user selects a value in first combo box ,the second combo box based on tht selected value of the first one shud display the list...all this is in the same page without database...
both combo boxes are one after the other...n am not able 2 trap the value of the first combo box....,i tired sum onChange method but its not workin plz suggest sum method.....

Hi,
please specify from where are the values coming ? are they static values or are they fetched from database initiatlly.Also specify if coming from database what are the fields that are fetched.
