Images+Combo box

I have 3 tab panes - shopper details, oreder details & recipient details. With the help of repaint method, I am displaying animated images one by one. The problem is as soon as the applet gets started, I have to clik on the tab panes area so that the tabbed panes and the components and their fields become visible. Also I have used combo box for three components. It is not working. I am getting the tabbed panes & the text fields as soon as the Applet gets loaded but still my Combo Boxes are not working. My Combo Boxes were working fine before adding animated images and repaint method in the tabbed Panes. At present I am using the getCodeBase() method to get the Images but then I tried with the getDocumentBase() method too, but still the combo box is not working. Is there any method which will display animated images along with the tabbedpanes and text fields without using the repaint method? Thanks
