Showing mess in status bar using JSP

Hi all,
Quiet raw on JSP's yet.
Would like to know if there is any way I can show mess in browser status bar using the jsp?
Some code examples will be of huge help.

Show a mess in the status bar? I hope you mean message.

If you do, then this is a client side problem - and JSPs are serverside. Ask in the JavaScript forum - someone might tell you how to use JS to write to the status bar.
