java or javascript or jython

i am java programmer and dont know anything about jython.is it something like javascript used in webbrowser or is it something like jsp.
what are its use and advantage?

I would not compare it to JavaScript -- if anything, compare it to Perl or PHP, if you are familiar with these languages. Or indeed Java itself, be it that the language is somewhat higher level and less rigid.
Another similarity with Java is that you can compile Jython down to bytecode. Jython classes can extend Java classes and vice versa (with a few limitations). It is a real, full-blown programming language unlike JSPs which are just a fancy way to write Java servlets.
So why Jython, then? Well, for example, you may want to add scriptability to your application. Jython as a high level language is ideal to glue together the larger building blocks written in Java. In case you're wondering whether this is useful, consider Microsoft Office (VBA), or Emacs (elisp), most databases... all these become much more powerful by having an embedded scripting language.
