Java, XML Developer

I am seeking a Java/XML Developer to join a fast-paced Applications Group in downtown Manhattan. The Java/XML developer will be a member of the integration team tasked with designing and development of system to system integration, ensuring the file/data transmission and maintaining/supporting the systems integration upon its completion. The Java/XML developer will work closely with team members to ensure the implementation of the company's integrations to meet the client�s need.

Responsibilities
  • Work interdependently with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Write XSLT to translate proprietary XML to Sterling XML
  • J2EE programming/configuration to connect Sterling to proprietary Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Design and Develop proper code (controller class) to call services and make data available to a GUI front-end.
  • Provide program documentation and system documentation that is understandable by other technical people
  • Write applications that are easy to support and maintain
  • Ensure reliability, availability, and performance of applications

  • Technical Skills
    • Solid OOD/OOP foundation
    • J2EE/JSP Framework (Spring, JSF, etc.)
    • Apache WebServer Web Server and JBoss Application Server
    • Familiar with WSDL, XML Beans, creating XSLT template, creating XML Schemas
    • Strong XML processing experience (XSD, XPATH, XSL/XSLT)
    • Communication Skills to present ideas and concepts effectively, Strong and proven problem solving capabilities
    • Demonstrated ability to set and meet deadlines
    • Have the ability to think logically and analyze system problems
    • JavaScript, XHTML/HTML, CSS (optional)

    • The following are a plus:
      • JSF
      • Version Control (e.g. Subversion, VSS, CVS)
      • Knowledge of communication protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS
      • Spring, Hibernate
      • Database design/logical and physical data models
      • Information architecture experience
      • Experience with MS Project and Visio

      • Work Experience and Education
        • 2 � 4 years experience with object-oriented design and programming using J2EE/JSP Frameworks
        • 2 � 4 years experience with creating XSLT templates and XML Schemas.
        • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field of study
        • Formal software development life cycle process training desired
        • Formal software development life cycle process training desired
