AutoTab tabbing two fields if second one has value...

I've got a form with many-many input fields, and I need to let the user edit all these, and auto-tabbing is a convenience I want to have in there. I've put an auto-tab script in place and it mostly works.

The problem is that if the autoTab lands in the next field and that field is already containing a value equal to the maxlength, then it tabs again. I've got the script being called from onKeyUp (see below) and it seems like when the focus changes for the first time, that the onKeyUp is called again - or it must be, because the script is called again from the field that's just been tabbed to..

I'd like the cursor to only move one field at a time. I hope i've explained this well-enough to be deciphered

[I'll post code in new entry, having trouble getting code into here, keeps complaining I have less than signs, but I got rid of them]

No one has any clues on this one? For some reason the tabbing will stop after two tabs - even if the third text field has the maxlength value as well, it won't tab again.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
