detect pop-ups and cookies

I need a way to detect if a person had pop-ups and cookies enabled on their machine. I wrote a script that uses navigator.kookieEnabled to test for cookies - but I'm not sure how to detect for pop-ups. I don't want to have to create a popup and see if it works - if that's the only way then i'll do it - but is there a way to read the settings that they have in their browser?

If there is a way to do this without using javascript - i'd be much happier...I've just not figured that out yet...

really? There's not a way to read the settings that the user has set in their browser or something?
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link:
