Job Description:
The Java Web Application Developer will be responsible for the design and build of high quality web applications following standards and best practices. This will include the development of
test plans and scripts; coordination of unit/integration testing; and implementing continuous improvements to applications and processes. The Java Web Application Developer may also be called upon to develop prototypes and functional/technical specs as needed to support the business.
The ideal candidate will be able to work with limited supervision in a team environment; be disciplined, productive and self-motivated with strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as effective oral and written communication skills. Additionally, an established record of delivering projects on time is essential.
Skills Requirements:
Experience with traditional static web technology, including HTML, XSLT and CSS
Experience with client-side dynamic web technology like JavaScript.
Experience with object oriented programming principles,
J2EE standards, and web development languages and approaches.
Experience with
JDBC, JSPs,
Servlets, JavaBeans, MVC, and Struts/Spring
Experience with relational database principles, SQL, internal and external Stored Procedures, and JDBC connection technology (DB2 and SQL server)
Experience with J2EE Web Application Servers (Websphere, BEA Weblogic,
Tomcat)
Experience configuring and administering Http Servers (Apache, IBM HTTP)
Experience developing and interfacing with the iSeries
Experience with change management software (Aldon, StarTeam, CVS, Microsoft SourceSafe)
Extensive experience with object oriented design and database modeling
Strong understanding of software development life-cycle and best practices
