What is the limit on the maximum number of lines in a text area? Is it configurable?

I don't know of any limit. You can set the size of your text area by defining the cols and rows attributes like this:

The browser will automatically scroll text that exceeds the limit. If you want to impose a limit on the number of lines submitted, then you need to write a javascript function that counts chars or words or phrases - whatever you decide you want to count.

there is no limit attribute like a textbox. There is a limit if you use a "get" since the URL is limited.
