No window.event in firefox ?

I got this javascript works fine in Opera and IE, but not in firefox, there is no window.event, do anyone knows why ???

window.event.keyCode is 13 in IE and Opera, but the window.event dont exist in firefox why, and what kan i do, i have to check on enter in a input field ???
