This is with reference to my other post. I solved that part using ids for each checkbox element. Thanks guys.

Now I have this problem of slow page scrolling. The page has multiple layers and now rows of checkboxes. Is there any way to tweak up the scroll speed?

Without looking at the code, only thing I can say is make sure that the markup is correct with all of the tags opened and closed properly with no overlapping.

Validate the page with the W3C Validator:
http://validator.w3.org/

Other than that, you are relying on the browser to render the page and the CPU of the box.
