onkeypress event, IE on windows CE

Hello, I'm having some problem with the onkeypress event in web pages displayed with Internet Explorer 4.01 for Windows CE, running on an iPaq. Specifically, the event doesn't fire at all.

The event fires on the destkop version of IE 6.0. According to MSDN, IE 4.0 for the Windows CE platform supports the onkeypress event. I know that javascript is enabled because I've tried other events (onload, onclick) and they worked fine.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Does an iPaq's virtual keyboard not trigger key events in the browser?

Thank you,

I do not think it supports it. You may have to use onfocus with a timer.

Hmm, I didn't even think of using a timer. So every so many milliseconds I'd be checking the textarea's value for changes, right? Not the most elegant solution, but it seems Microsoft doesn't leave much choice in the matter. Thanks, Eric!
