I have a HTML page which is having lots of links, if we select one link it will show a image assocated with that link.

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the
JavaRanch Naming Policy
adjust your display name
to match it.
In particular, your display name must be a first
a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

What do you mean select and images. Have no clue what you want to happen.
You can play with document.links which is an array.
