hey, i m new to JSP..

In my JSP screen, I have a image. When i click this image a window should popup(this is a jsp too).

I m thinking of doing it like this..

refer the image to a javascript...and in the script write a function that popsup the given url(url of the jsp)

will this work??
if yes...how good is this? any alternatives..

help appreciated

"Navi cool",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!

Nothing to do with JSP, so moved to the HTML/Javascript forum.

If you just want to open a new browser instance you could use the target attribute of the anchor tag.

yup, as bear said, you dont need javascript for this one.
just put the image in an anchor element and set the href and target to a new window.

Then when you click on the image the JSP will be opened in a new window.

Thanks tiny ad, for helping me escape the terrible comfort of this chair.
