popping up a jsp from a jsp

hey, i m new to JSP..

In my JSP screen, I have a image. When i click this image a window should popup(this is a jsp too).

I m thinking of doing it like this..

refer the image to a javascript...and in the script write a function that popsup the given url(url of the jsp)

will this work??
if yes...how good is this? any alternatives..

help appreciated
