pass control from child page to parent page

I have a situation like this -

On the click of a button in the main page, I need a javascript function to pop up a window. This window will be a form, with two radio buttons. As soon as the user clicks on a radio button and submits, the new page should open up in the main window.

That means, the control should move from child window to parent window. The child window should close.

Any ideas on how to do this?

The opener variable will give you a reference to the opening window object.
