I create a popup window in jsp and i have a requirement that i have to disable the close button of the popup window because i have a close button in the popup html itself .

Hi Sujittt,

Its impossible because browser window works on MFC. Javascript works on HTML DOM. Please search like 'close X button' in this forum you can find out alternative solution.

How are you creating the popup? Are you using window.createPopup(). If not, post the code through which you are creating the popup

You can not diable or remove the x in a pop up window. What you would have to do is use a layer (div) on top of the page (z-Index)with an iframe so the user can not remove it.
