i have an simple html code

<a href="test/test_excel.xls">click here</a>

when i try to click the link "click here"

the mentioned excel sheet(test_excel.xls) is opening in ASCII characters

test_excel.xls is in the tomcat server.

But if i give a pdf file or MS-word file itz working fine.

Please help me out.

Sounds like your browser is having issues determining the file type. What browser is it?

Naga Reddy, this whole forum is devoted to issues on HTML, so using a subject of "HTML" isn't very informative. Please use more descriptive subjects for your posts. Please read this for more information.
